NINO/NINA PARADE AND SEARCH FOR NINO/NINA 2019 (January 19, 2019) RULES

 

  1. SEARCH FOR NINO / NINA 2019 [COMPETITION]

    1. Entry age 3-7 year old (children just turned 8 may qualify) .

    2. Photo of entry may be submitted either to the cultural committee or directly to the Waikato-BOP-Gisborne Sinulog FB page for the poster.

  2. NO REGISTRATION FEE IS REQUIRED TO JOIN THE CONTEST however to help raise funds for the prizes, costumes, gifts, and other expenses each entry will be given Sinulog raffle tickets to sell (Each raffle ticket costs $2). Parents will choose one of the following:

    1. Option I: For parents who wish to purchase a new costume and wish to be subsidized, parents will be given 10 stubs of raffle tickets to sell (50 tickets) worth $100 ($50 goes to the parents for the costume’s cost, and $50 goes to the organization for the child’s individual gift/consolation prize and for the major winners).

    2. Option 2: Parents who wish to find other alternatives in acquiring a costume, they will be given 5 stubs of raffle tickets to sell (25 tickets) or equivalent of $50, which goes to the organization for the children’s consolation prizes and major winners.

 

  1. All candidates will receive consolation prizes of their favorite toy / their interest.

  2. SPECIAL AWARD (Best in costume) will receive a sash and a cash of $50 plus the gift as individual consolation prize.

  3. MAJOR WINNER – will be crowned as Nino/Nina 2019 will receive a sash, a birthday cake voucher, a cash of $100 plus the individual consolation prize.

 

  1. NINO / NINA PARADE [NON-COMPETITION]:

    1. Children aged 0-7 can participate in the Nino/Nina parade. Dress your child similar to the image of Sto Nino during the mass and during the cultural event. They will parade from the cathedral to the event centre with the Sto Nino devotees. Younger children must be accompanied by the parents or an adult.

    2. All Nino and Nina participants will join with the official candidates to March up the stage during the cultural presentation.

    3. A person who will accompany the child must wear white or off-white attire as appropriate.

    4. All children will receive individual gifts when they march up the stage with the official candidates for Nino/Nina.

    5. To help the cost for each child’s individual gift, parents may choose to either purchase 1 stub of Sinulog raffle ticket (costs $10), or donate $10, or personally buy a gift for their child. NOTE: This is not compulsory, parents may choose not to do anything just simply let their children join the parade as their HALAD to Sr Sto Nino.
